A little theme change for Halloween

Now, I know it is still September, but I’ve been in the need for a theme change, and was having some difficulty finding one that I really liked. Then I came across this one (The Monster Theme), and thought it would be perfect for the rest of September and October.

What do ya think?

Micky Dolenz

On Friday, September 18th, 2015, I had the opportunity to see Micky Dolenz perform at St. Croix Casino in Turtle Lake. And, let me tell you, he puts on one hell of a show. I’m a huge Monkees fan, so it was such a wonderful chance to see Micky perform and hear my favorite song in the whole world “Daydream Believer” performed live, among other kick ass songs.

I made a little video for my youtube channel that includes performances of “Daydream Believer” and “I’m a Believer”. (yes, I know the quality isn’t the best, and the pics are blurry, but we were sitting in the front row and it was extremely loud. I actually just purchased a new camera today, so hopefully I can get some better quality).

Screw today’s music and so-called artists, I’d rather go listen to all the old guys in their 60s and 70s who were big in the 50s and 60s!!

Summer Is Over

Well, it was spring, and then it was summer, then all of a sudden it was Labor Day, and now it’s chilly and the leaves are a changing and falling again. Summer is over. Now, I’m not too upset by this because fall is my favorite season. I love watching the leaves change and fall. I love the crisp and chilly, but not too cold, air. It’s the best. But, it is always a double edge sword because winter lurks right behind fall. And winter lasts forever. FOREVER!

Lots of exciting things coming the next couple months. I have started my countdowns:

48: Halloween
74: Thanksgiving & Black Friday
103: Christmas

The biggest thing is the release of “The Survivor” on 10-6-15 (23 DAYS!!!!!!) which is the next Vince Flynn Mitch Rapp novel by Kyle Mills. Beyond excited. There is also a National Book Release Event at Saint Thomas Academy on that Tuesday night in which I am also very excited for.

In July, I started playing around with making little videos for “The Survivor”, in which I started a Youtube channel. I don’t have much content up there yet, and not sure what I will do in the future, but for right now, I am having fun making these little videos, and I also put up a video on my journey to the MN State Fair this year.

I know technically we have a little more time being officially summer, but Hello Fall, I’ve missed you 🙂

Clear By Fire by Joshua Hood

Hey Guys!

Today, I have a book recommendation for you.

516VGckPi7L

If you are a fan of the political/military thriller genre and like authors such as Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, Brad Taylor, etc, then you need to check out Joshua Hood’s debut thriller Clear by Fire! And if you’re a fan of any of the previously mentioned authors, you will certainly like this one.

Now, as you already know, I don’t really do book reviews, and I did break my rule of this and did post a review on Amazon for this book. My friend Ryan (THE RAPPOLOGIST!!!) is working with Josh and really helped spread the work of his book release. And Josh is also one of the Rapp Pack too!

Clear by Fire took me just over a week to finish, but I could have read it in a day or two. It is hard for me to believe that this is the first novel written by Josh, because it is that good. Very well written. Fast paced. It’s just awesome. When I wasn’t reading, I kept thinking about it. Mason Kane is a bad ass. Kane is right up there with Flynn’s Rapp, Thor’s Harvath, and Taylor’s Logan. And Kane’s counterpart Renee Hart, I definitely wouldn’t want to get on her bad side. She is a very strong female character who can and does hold her own. I love her.

I didn’t like this book. I LOVED this book. Josh is going to be a strong contender in this genre. (There is room for everyone!)

A little about Josh:

Joshua Hood graduated from the University of Memphis before joining the military and spending five years in the 82nd Airborne Division, where he was team leader in the 3-504 Parachute Infantry Regiment. In 2005, he was sent to Iraq and conducted combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2005-2006, and from 2007 to 2008 he served as a squad leader in the 1-508th Parachute Infantry Regiment and was deployed to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. Hood was decorated for valor in Operation Furious Pursuit. He is currently a member of a full time SWAT team in Memphis, Tennessee, and has conducted countless stateside operations with the FBI, ATF, DEA, Secret Service, and US Marshals.

I’ve had the chance to interact with Josh on social media, and he is a fantastic person. Very humble.

You can interact with Josh:

Tell him I sent ya 🙂

And be sure to pick up a copy of Clear by Fire on Amazon and be sure to leave a review as well!

Enjoy!!!!

RIP Wes Craven

On August 30th, legendary horror film writer, director, and producer Wes Craven lost his life to brain cancer. This came as a complete shock to me, I had no clue that he had cancer.

My favorite work of Craven’s definitely has to be the Scream series. But anything Craven touched was pretty much golden, and horrific, to say in the least. Freddy Krueger anyone?

Wes Craven will surely be missed.

We sure are losing some great ones in 2015 😦
