Merry Christmas Eve!!

In my eyes, Christmas Eve is Christmas, and we celebrate Christmas for 2 days.

So, today’s pick, have you guessed it??

It’s a tradition.

It’s on for 24 hours.

Yes, it’s “A Christmas Story”!!

Between ACS and Christmas Vacation, they are my top 2 Christmas movies, and I always can’t decide which is number 1, so, they both are.

The first showing at 7pm, we typically open our presents. And then, I’ll watch it into the wee hours of the morning. And then watch all day tomorrow when I can. And then, the sadness comes, during the last showing tomorrow night.

I know I have the dvd. I know I can watch it anytime I want. But, the marathon is just magical!

So, don’t shoot your eye out and be sure to watch it on TBS! (Last year it was both on TBS and TNT)

(From my favorite part when Santa says “Ho! Ho! Ho!” and then gives Ralph the boot!)

Merry Christmas!!!

I got the year right on this one, LOL.

So tonight, I’m bringing in some more of the animated classics with…

“A Garfield Christmas”

“Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol”

“Frosty the Snowman”

I will likely throw in some Christmas Carol remakes tonight or some other feel good Christmas movies or stalk Lifetime, ABC Family, and Hallmark Channel. It will likely be my last night with the dvds.

Less than 48 hours until Christmas!

The final of my gifts came in today, just need to wrap them. And then I am good to go. We open presents tomorrow night. And will then do more presents with my brother’s family on Christmas night. It’s so much fun watching the niece and nephew open gifts (now that they are really into them).

Well, with any of the gifts I give, I get more pleasure in the giving than the receiving. I pretty much know everything I am getting (somebody kept telling me every time they picked up something off my list, LOL), but that’s alright. And I know I am getting all the books I asked for but 1, but, I don’t remember all the titles, so, it’ll still be fun and surprising.

On the @VinceFlynnFans twitter this month, I have been doing Rappmas, where I have been giving away gifts every day in December up until Christmas, and I have been having so much fun doing it.

Can you guess what my movie pick is for tomorrow night?? HO HO HO

3 Days until Christmas!!!!

Tonight, I am bringing in more classics.

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”

“A Charlie Brown Christmas”

“‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” (you know, that one with the mouses)

And the 2 Simpsons’ Christmas specials “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire” where Bart gets a tattoo, and they rescue Santa’s Little Helper (which is my absolute favorite), and “Miracle on Evergreen Terrace” where Bart burns down the Christmas tree.

Oldies, but goodies!

4 Days Until Christmas!!!!

Tonight’s Blogmas movies are “Holiday in Handcuffs,” “Holiday Engagement,” and “Hitched for the Holidays”.

They all have very similar plots in which the women in each bring home a fake boyfriend/fiance. Some family fun ensues.

Do the “couples” end up being couples?

The end of the weekend.

Tonight, I am watching 2 movies that I fell in love with last year on the Hallmark Channel “A Very Merry Mix-Up” and “The Nine Lives of Christmas”.

In “A Very Merry Mix-Up” a girl who is going home with her fiancé for Christmas, ends up at the wrong house with the wrong family, but maybe, just maybe, they really are the “right” family.

In “The Nine Lives of Christmas” a vet student falls in love with a firefighter.

It is hard to believe that it is really Christmas Week!

Happy Weekend!

Tonight I am watching “Surviving Christmas”.

In this movie, Drew is tired of spending Christmas alone, so he makes the Valcos an offer they should have refused. Drew puts some fun in this dysfunctional family with his outrageous demands.

Despite the big name stars in this one (Ben Affleck, James Gandolfini, Christina Applegate, Catherine O’Hara) I feel that many have never heard of it before, but it is a very funny movie that I recommend.

Wow, hard to believe it’s already the 18th! Only 1 week until Christmas!

Tonight’s pick is a trilogy. Any guesses?

If you guessed “The Santa Clause,” you are correct!

The first one is by far my favorite and by far the best of the 3. But since it is Friday night, and I can party it up (LOL) I might as well pick a collection of movies versus just 1.

I’m sure you all know what “The Santa Clause” is about, Scott Calvin puts on Santa’s outfit and becomes Santa.

“The Santa Clause 2” we find Scott Calvin as Santa for 8 years, his son Charlie is now on the naughty list, and Scott must marry by Christmas Eve or he’ll stop being Santa forever.

“The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause” Scott Calvin is still Santa, his wife is pregnant, his in-laws come to the North Pole for a visit, he discovers a way out of his “Santa Clause”, and Jack Frost freezes it up. Can Scott save the day and continue to be Santa?

Tonight’s picks revolve around Christmas and Royalty with “A Princess For Christmas” and “A Royal Christmas”.

In “A Princess For Christmas” we find Jules Daly caring for her niece and nephew, recently loses her job, and takes the kids to Europe to spend Christmas with the children’s grandfather who happens to be the Duke of Castlebury Hall. His son, Prince Ashton, finds himself falling for Jules despite already being in a relationship.

In “A Royal Christmas” Emily and her boyfriend Leo, who happens to be a prince, travel to Cordinia to spend Christmas with his mother, Queen Isadora, who is intent of her son marrying Natasha, and not a commoner.

It’s every little (and not so little) girl’s dream to be a princess. And that Prince Harry is mighty fine. Alas, it isn’t really a “job” I’d actually want to have. While it seems like a perfect life, I’m sure in a lot of aspects that it is far from it. The royalty life certainly isn’t for me, but, it will always live in my dreams as a fairytale 🙂

Tonight I am continuing with the feel good Christmas movies with “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “Moonlight & Mistletoe”.

“The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” (which is a fave song too) finds single mom Jennifer as a Scroogette when it comes to Christmas and her young son is having trouble believing in Santa Claus. When her Uncle Ralph visits and brings a fellow passenger from his flight home, Jennifer’s heart awakens to the possibility that Christmas really does hold miracles.

“Moonlight & Mistletoe” finds estranged daughter Holly retuning home to Nick and Santaville (a small town year-round Christmas theme park) only to find the spirit of Christmas in Santaville has dwindled, and the family business is in trouble. An attempt to bail out her dad rekindles Holly’s belief in Christmas.

I have always wanted to visit a small town that really does it up big for Christmas, decorations and such. One day I will find one.

And I have always wanted to visit New York at Christmastime. Definitely on my bucket list. One year I will make it over there.

Today, I need a pick me up. Things have been and will continue to be stressful. And I don’t have many hours after getting home to relax and unwind.

So, tonight I am going to watch “The Christmas Card”, which is a great tale of loss and love and the Christmas spirit.

A soldier receives a Christmas Card, which helps him to get through war. He returns stateside at Christmas time and finds himself in the town in which the woman lives, and finds himself falling in love with her.

Merry Christmas!

And thank you to all who serve and those who have served!
