An Honorable Man by Paul Vidich

Happy Pub Day to Paul Vidich’s “An Honorable Man”!!!!

I’m very excited for this book. It’s set in the Cold War Era, which makes it very interesting to read. As you read it, it makes you feel like you have time travelled back to that era. It’s almost like watching a movie. So, sit back, relax, and watch as the CIA looks for a traitor.

The blurb:

Washington D.C., 1953. The Cold War is heating up: McCarthyism, with all its fear and demagoguery, is raging in the nation’s capital, and Joseph Stalin’s death has left a dangerous power vacuum in the Soviet Union.

The CIA, meanwhile, is reeling from a double agent within their midst. Someone is selling secrets to the Soviets, compromising missions around the globe. Undercover agents have been assassinated, and anti-Communist plots are being cut short in ruthlessly efficient fashion. The CIA director knows any news of the traitor, whose code name is Protocol, would be a national embarrassment and compromise the entire agency.

George Mueller seems to be the perfect man to help find the mole: Yale-educated; extensive experience running missions in Eastern Europe; an operative so dedicated to his job that it left his marriage in tatters. The Director trusts him. Mueller, though, has secrets of his own, and as he digs deeper into the case, making contact with a Soviet agent, suspicion begins to fall on him as well. Until Protocol is found, no one can be trusted, and everyone is at risk.

Murder, She Wrote: Design for Murder

Happy Pub Day to the next “Murder, She Wrote” novel “Design for Murder” by Jessica Fletcher, Donald Bain & Renee Paley-Bain!!!

It’s always a good day when a new MSW book is out. Typically, they release 2 a year, April and October. If I am in the middle of a book, I will usually set it aside to read a MSW book first.

The blurb:

Jessica Fletcher visits New York City during fashion week, only to discover someone has rather fatal designs…

Jessica is in Manhattan to attend the debut of a new designer. Formerly Sandy Black of Cabot Cove, the young man has reinvented himself as Xandr Ebon, and is introducing his evening wear collection to the public and—more important—to the industry’s powers-that-be: the stylists, the magazine editors, the buyers, and the wealthy clientele who can make or break him. At the show, the glitz and glamour are dazzling until a young model—a novice, taking her first walk down the runway—shockingly collapses and dies. Natural causes? Perhaps. But when another model is found dead, a famous cover girl and darling of the paparazzi, the fashion world gets nervous.

Two models. Two deaths. Their only connection? Xandr Ebon. Jessica’s crime-solving instincts are put to the test as she sorts through the egos, the conflicts of interest, the spiteful accusations, and the secrets, all the while keeping an amorous detective at arm’s length. But she’ll have to dig deep to uncover a killer. A designer’s career is on the line. And another model could perish in a New York minute.

I can’t wait to start this one.
